Verge Motorcycle is a Finland based startup which released new images for their upcoming fully electric motorbike. The TS electric motorcycle was first shown to the public as a prototype back in 2018 and now it looks like they are at the final stage of making. The TS electric motorcycle very much looks like a KTM model especially with that orange and black colour combination. KTM has shown interest in the electric bike market but hasn't shown anything near to this calibre. They have their KTM FREERIDE E-XC which is a lightweight electric bike which is expected to launch soon.

The Verge TS has very impressive specs on paper with a motor rated at 80 kW and output torque of 1000 Nm. The company claims that this will reach 00-100kmph in just 4 sec which does not seem too far fetch with these specs. The top speed is electronically capped at 180kmph. Details regarding the battery are not yet revealed by Verge Motorcycle but they are claiming a range from 200 km to 300 km. You might have noticed that the rear wheel does not have a traditional design. It is connected to the body of the bike with a rather unusual engineering solution. The reason for this is the placement of the motor, as the motor is in the rim of the hubless wheels.

The differences do not end there as both the front and the rear brakes are on the handle. The rear brake is generally a foot brake as in many petrol variants but there is no reason for that here because of a lack of gear mechanism. This may become a standard with upcoming electric motorbikes and will soon become a legacy thing. It may take a little getting used to with traditional bike riders but will not be noticeable after a while.

The charging speed for the batteries will be 4 hours with a normal charger and the time can be cut to only 50 minutes with a DC fast charger. Verge motorcycles also claim less maintenance cost as there are no chains, no oil and also that the tyres can be easily changed which will give a carefree experience to the rider. The aluminium frame is very lightweight and will be very lightweight despite also carrying the batteries.

A deposit of $2,170 will secure a spot for you with a Verge TS as it is first come first serve policy and the total number to be produced is also unknown. The Verge TS will cost you a total cost of $27,000. With this price tag, the Verge TS is definitely targeting the premium motorcycle market and is comparable to Harley Davidson's LiveWire. Preorders have already started and the time for delivery will increase the latter you order. The more orders they receive the more will be the delivery time. There are also many colour variants for you to choose from. So the decision to invest in a very high premium electric motorbike is up to you.
